Low Cost Airport Car Hire is an affiliate links site designed to attract anyone searching for car hire available from airports across the UK, Europe and worldwide.
Affiliate links allow the owner of a website to earn commission on any sales that are a result of click-through from their site. Most of the advertising found on the world wide web is of this nature.
The site encorporates some nice accessiblity effects with a fairly nice design even though the content only consists of sponsored links. Affiliate sites are a rising phenomenon on the internet (some say a curse) and I chose to create one for two reasons; as an experiment and to “get in on the action”.
Adjustable with Text-Size
If you size the text up or down whilst browsing Low Cost Airport Car Hire, the entire site zooms in and out. This is a nice effect when trying to acheive maximum accessibility but it definately has it’s flaws; for instance, if you size the text up too much, you will cause a horizontal scroll bar to appear. These flaws can be fixed in some browsers but, after researching the effect, I’ve found some users don’t like it much.
Logo Design
The site also incorporates a nice logo design. Because I wanted the logo to represent movement and ease, I decided to go with a classic “swoosh” design with italic text. I used warm colours to keep the logo friendly - and I added the star to emphasise excellence and class.
